Nesting Beach Walks           

A veteran Longboat Key Turtle Walk volunteer, Connie Schindewolf, conducts

Turtle nesting beach walks on Saturdays, starting in June and ending in August.

Connie meets interested vacationers at the Hilton Pool on Longboat Key at

6:45 am, and then the group proceeds to the beach.  During the walk, Connie

discusses Turtle nesting, Beach Birds and other aquatic Gulf animals.  On a

lucky morning the group may find a new turtle nest laid the night before,

and the turtle watch group will demonstrate their skills finding the nest,

performing measurements, filling out forms and staking the nest.
